A Guide To Glacier

In 1910, Glacier and it’s 1million acres of land was established as a national park. This park is located in northwest Montana near the Canadian border. This park contains 2 mountain ranges and more than 130 lakes. Glacier has glacier carved peaks and valleys, crystal clear lakes and streams, and forests. It is the country’s 10th largest national park and is known as the Crown of the Continent.


If you are wanting to see a land of mountain ranges that are carved by prehistoric ice rivers, Glacier National Park should be at the top of your list. Want a preview, look at these amazing views.







Now that we have convinced you to put Glacier on your list, here are our recommendations for things you have got to see when your there!


Put these on your list:


Avalanche Lake

Avalanche Lake, one of the most popular hikes in Glacier, is 5.9 miles. It is located near Lake McDonald. This trail takes you along slide Avalanche Creek and provides views of the lower Avalanche Gorge. Once at Avalanche Lake, you can enjoy the breathtaking views of lake at sits at the 8694 foot Bearhat Mountain. The mountain has several long waterfalls that plunge hundreds of feet to the lake.





Iceberg Lake

If you are there between June and October, you have got to put this on your list. This trail is 9.3 miles with about a 1,450ft elevation gain. Along the hike, you will be able to enjoy views of the Siftcurrent Valley mountain peaks. At the end of the hike, you reach an aquamarine lake beneath a steep walled.






Going-To-the-Sun Road

When you are sore from hiking and need a break, you might want to check the Going-to-the-Sun Road. This is a scenic drive that provides views of the Rocky Mountains of the western U.S. This is a 49.7 mile road that has lots of pull out spots if you need see the perfect photo-opp.





Logan Pass

Logan Pass is located right along the Continental Divide in Glacier. It is at the highest point on the Going-to-the-Sun road. The Logan Pass hiking area has two of the most popular trails, Hidden Lake trail and the Highline trail. The trials along the Pass provide amazing vantage points to overlook the valleys and the glaciers on the mountains.




This park has some of the best views you can find. The bright turquoise lakes and streams that were formed from melted glaciers have some of the clearest water I have ever seen. The park is absolutely breathtaking. Highly recommend!
